   What do think of Nordicism?
   
   You've very knowledgeable about WWII, and you've also written extensively about the holocaust.  Just thought I'd ask what you think of this crazy concept/ideology (which Hitler believed in) of the superiority of the "so called" nordic race? (English, Germans, Scandinavians, etc...)

   Madison Grant, in his book The Passing of the Great Race, described a "Nordic" or "Baltic" type:
   
   "long skulled, very tall, fair skinned, with blond or brown hair and light colored eyes. The Nordics inhabit the countries around the North and Baltic Seas and include not only the great Scandinavian and Teutonic groups, but also other early peoples who first appear in southern Europe and in Asia as representatives of Aryan language and culture."
   
   You know what is funny about that, Hitler was not very tall (short, actually) nor was he long skulled or a blond-haired being.  Ahh, who cares about eye color and all the rest.
   You know, it is odd that I ran across this question today, as I stumbled upon an interesting speech via a YouTube video earlier, that would be a good contrast to this subject, and you can find it here:

   As for what I think of Nordicism, which is, by definition: 
   1: the belief in or the doctrine of the superiority of the hypothetical Nordic racial type and its cultural capacities — compare aryanism
   2: qualities or traits regarded as distinctive of the hypothetical Nordic race
   
   I think it is a load of baloney and utter denial of the diversity of mankind!  I mean, for example: What, we only praise one breed of dog and say kill the rest?  We only approve of one type of fish, so the rest should die?  The same goes with humans.  Yeah, separate in groups if ya like, but each deserves a chance at life just like the next one...  WTF?

   I think that the idea of one subclass of people, by sub-class I simply mean Nordic as part of the caucasian race, being superior to another sub-class is preposterous.  This sort of thing has been around for quite sometime, the Nazis weren't the first and probably won't be the last.  The idea of eugenics and social darwinism is just a mask for racism and bigotry.  Of course we all know that Hitler and the Nazis hated Jews and several groupd of people, one of his other primary targets were the Slavs of Eastern Europe, they too were racially inferior and therefor a target of scorn.

   Hitler's ideal of an ideal superior people (the Aryan race) was his own invention, a ridiculous notion perpetuated by his cronies and followers and one that has no validity in either the conventional or historic beliefs of Nordic peoples. That the Nazi's went to great lengths to re-invent history, religion and symbolism for Hitler's purposes has, unfortunately, cast a black eye on anything associated with Norse culture. He went so far as to invert the symbol of the sun (swastika) and raise that backward symbol as a lasting icon of evil. It is the same if someone of power inverted the Christian cross and used it as a symbol of their political power or dominance. True followers of the old gods know we are but one of a myriad of peoples created by the good Gods, and that there is no such thing as a "sub-human". The Gods made us all and none of us are better or worse than any other race of people in this beautiful world. And this is never more astutely seen than in the fact that the goddess Urtha (where we get the word "earth" from) has always been portrayed in her human semblance as a black woman. Hitler was a racist tyrant who twisted doctrine in order to see himself as superior and in his propaganda of hate alienated himself utterly from any claim to being a follower of the old ways.

   I don't believe that Hitler was a true nordicist, because his predecessors on this topic weren't real hate mongers like he was...   I've read about 2 paragraphs of Mein Kampf. (worse book I've ever read, not to mention most subjective)  He uses the Germans, English and French as the so called "Aryan Prototypes," and how these peoples have struggled against the so called "Jew" invasion of their countries (mostly Germany and France, since England had very little jews during this time...) ...Anyways, I'm glad this monster wasn't able to further his insane ideology...

   Hitler actually believed in Aryans. Only people with blonde hair and blue eyes where superior by his ideology, and thus even he himself was not superior.
