Why are Texas juries so quick to deliberate and convict?

Yesterday I read an article about a woman in Gun Barrel City, Texas who had a trial for Possession of Meth. According to the article, the jury deliberated for 7 seconds, that's right, seven seconds and came back with a guilty verdict. It seems to me that a person should at least get 30 seconds before they know their fate. I read about this kind of stuff all to often in Texas newspapers.
