Because there is so much illogic in the world these days, especially in the US after the systematic dumbing down of both early education and universities for the past 30 years (increased wildly by NCLB), that those of us taught to actually think are duty bound to explicate difficult matters for others. With luck, people will begin to connect the dots properly again and, for example, not consider a man with no conscience and less intellect as appropriate presidential material. Or they will begin to see that wiping out crabgrass from the front lawn with a popular herbicide, at the risk of the water they drink and the beings living on the land and in the rivers, is selfishly short-sighted and death-dealing to the planet on which we all live. And just lately, to notice that causing a young mother to pump her breast milk and put it in bottles to board a plane (say what?) has not one thing to do with terrorism...except terrorism of that young mother. Since I was taught logic and have spent the past 35 years writing, I would feel like the slacker of the universe if I didn't pass some of my thoughts on to others for their consideration and debate.
