   Would men allow women to rule the world?
   
   Men have been ruling the world for centuries now, if the opportunity arose for the world leaders to all be women how would the men react?

   Allow?  Oh please reword that.  Many of our world's finest leaders have been women.  There is no one more powerful on this earth than the mother of a child - so in a sense we already are running the world.
   
   How would men react? I would hope they would base their opinions on the individual leaders and how they conducted themselves and the business of their nations.
   
   I believe that Afghanistan would be a much different place if a woman were "allowed" to run it.

   Yes and anyways its happening now. There are some countries that women are powerful than men and they have a good leadership.

   Some women already rule in certain parts of the world. I have no problem with it, in fact, I often vote for women in elections if I think the are right for the job. It all depends on who is right for the job, and I've yet to see gender make a difference.

   Those with the most wealth rule the world.  As long as the majority of wealth is made and controlled by men, such as Rush Limbaugh, women will be relegated to "assistant" rather than leaders.
   
   Men rarely defer to women.  They may act like it, yet smile and remark that the woman is "spunky" (translation being "how cute") when she is passionate about a social or political issue. Placating male demeanors are a transparent means of diminishing any validity the woman expresses, leading me to believe that men are holding on to control and the power in this country. The large numbers of unreported rapes are an illustration of male/female inequality in societies attitude toward women. Many women who suffer through rape do not want to be victimized again by the court system in "proving" it was not their appearance, their dress or their behavior that caused and resulted in a sexual attack.
   
   Our First Lady, Michelle Obama, wife of our President, has been the subject of open, demeaning critiques of her body, size, and fashion by both men and women. Until that time, when women receive the same respect as men, they will remain in the background, in a supporting role, more trophy for the man than equal partner.
   
   There are no absolutes and I refrain from "never", but, in my opinion, we have a ways to go.

    Who is to say that it would be up to men?  With voter turn outs of 40 to 50 percent in most countries, if ALL women were to vote on the same card they could send whomever they wanted to office!

    "Behind every great man is a great woman."
    Was Bill president or was it really Hilary? We can go on and on with this one. Regardless, we should rule things equally with the support of one another and not worry about the sex behind a great mind.

    A few months ago I had a similar conversation with a friend of my Egyptian husband. At the time there was too much talk and not enough "do" about getting the new constitution sorted out there.
    I said to him, if a woman was put in charge this would all be sorted out by now.
    Bearing in mind that the culture there is male dominated i was surprised by his answer.......................YES, he said, you are right. You women get on and do, and we men talk far too much!
