Am working on my first political hub and gathering information. I would like to hear both sides of the opinionated coin about whether or not women should have the right to vote or if only men should vote and speak for their house. This ties a bit into religion where the view is that men are the head of their household and as such speak for everyone there... generalized yes...but hopefully the point is taken...
sort by best latest
But do they? is it? can it be?
Very well put, Victoria, you hit the nail on the head... with a sledgehammer, but that was called for :)
Voting is so far down on the list of things that women can not do world wide that it serves as a catalyst. It was my hope that people would recognize that...some have. Read through the comments and understand how much american women have to give back
think world wide... many women can not even choose their own husbands, drive cars, or leave their house without an escort. They are own like property and not treated as humans at all....
this is exactly what I wanted to shine light upon...
faria_lupin... move to India, Iran, China... where women are property... would you let your father pick your husband? Do you ask permission from your husband befor you leave your house? do you drive?
The question was asked because not everywhere do women have the right to vote... or to even choose their own spouse. In some places they are not permitted to drive a car, own property or have legal rights.... so yeah... the question is valid.
Is life fair? what should be is not always what is.
I asked the question because not every nation is in the 21st century.... there is more to the world then just the United States and the plight of women around the world is not equal.... nor is it just. read the comments for more on this topic.
This is not just about american women... this is a world view question. The women of the world have little compared to what american women have. read through these comments (from women) and you will see.

I am serious... the question is not formed as a statement...it is a question. The question also does not state "within the United States"... the world holds a far dimmer and different view of women than just the view within the united states.
