Many long term unemployed have dropped off the rolls of everything, yet they are surviving. What are some of the possibilities for people who have not found a job in over 2 years?

It is terrible, after a lifetime of work, to be in such a tenuous situation. Big business will never get the loyal employees that they once had. The younger generation will hopefully have their medical insurance and will get out of bad situations.
I am in the same boat. So many people would get out at 62 if only they could get insurance. My spouse is working ridiculous hours and can get out in April with pension/ss/40k, but won't because of the insurance issue. It worries me.
