I don't agree it is a discriminatory statement ignoring an important part of the illegal immigration which is the ones who do what an American always refused to do meaning housekeeping, gardening, baby-sitting, cooking, picking fruits, nail polishing (Asian hands), massaging... Those people are hard worker! Why not them? I guess the American government still adheres to the idea that they can be financially exploited!

Refusing to acknowledge the contribution of the illegals only proves the hypocrisy of the politicians and the ignorance of some people. Without their hard work the financial crises will be much worse

The timing of this decision is obviously motivated by the upcoming elections.
This being said, let's look at facts and history: America has been imported brains and talent since WWII and always found a way to make it "legal" since it is in its best interest and much cheaper than educating its own people.

I agree. California, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona are Mexican lands, which we conquered from them in 1836 and 1847. Just as the Midwest is now immigrant German territory, the Northeast and Northwest are immigrant Irish territories, the southwest will soon be immigrant Mexican territory. Our nation is only 230 years old and our national culture is still forming. It took the British about 800 years to form their culture from Celts, Saxons, Angles, French, and Norsemen.

Immigration is an asset.  It is like water to an arid land - allowing the parched earth to bring forth life; in all forms ranging from the worms, to the flowers and trees,  and even people.  If the water comes in the form of a flash flood, the land can be  destroyed.  If immigration is as unfettered as a tidal wave, it will engulf us.  In order for it to work best (as it has done for more than 200 years) it must be regulated and orderly.
