   Is global warming and climate change an important issue, or is it a hoax?
   
   I know there is much talk about climate change issues.  I also know that various people profit off of these concerns, and the media certainly promotes theses issues as well.  So a question needs to be asked, is climate change dangerous, and will it lead to a catastrophe?  Climate change may be a real problem, but are government solutions the answer, or just another scam for the government to profit off its tax payers?

   I believe that "Climate Change" is a perceived hoax, within a hoax. Rather, at first it more than seemed credulous, and then all of a sudden, perhaps for political reasons or others, it was changed into one big conspiracy that was done for controlling  the public and money making ventures. It was pooh-poohed and made to look like one big false proposition. Climate change is real and factually supported by many scientists and researchers who have found that melting ice in glaciers and dumping chemical wastes has radically change the oceans and influenced the weather as well. The gulf stream and other natural flowing currents that encircle the globe are being re-routed and basically destroyed. It has been proven that the currents influence sea life and promote it. It had been proven that the currents greatly influence the weather and may cause droughts, as well as inclimate hurricanes, in great numbers in previously rare areas of occurrence. The over burdening of the great weights of new water spilling into the oceans puts huge amounts of pressure and according to geologists creates earth quakes that have been recently seen in Asia and other areas around the globe. The overabundance of wastes in the air and water supplies globally causes weather changes on a radical basis. Political sources put pressure on congress and lighten the severity of wasteful habits of huge companies who dump wastes into oceans killing fish we need and water, itself that we drink. Our air is being destroyed by pollution and the ozone layer is being eaten away that protects us against harmful rays from the sun. All have a big effect on the weather and every other human need on this planet. It is fact.It has been said tat within forty years most ocean life that we depend upon for food sources will be decimated at the current rate of pollution and will not be able to regain biological ability to reproduce enough in order to sustain species. It is proven and factual.

   There are more people profiting off of ignoring climate issues.  Big corporations that pour millions of gallons of pollution into our air and water, then take our jobs  overseas. 
   
   With glaciers melting, bees disappearing, dead fish washing up on the shores and birds falling dead out of the sky, we still ask if it's a hoax?  I know who is draining taxpayers money and they will continue doing so until every fish, bird and animal on this continent is extinct.

      That is because the EPA permits them to pollute, as long as they pay up.  We need a solution that doesn't involve pay offs. If people are polluting, they should be charged with a crime. Unfortunately government and big business work together.

   That is kind of like if your house was on fire and asking if it was a problem or not. Forget about what politicians and commentators say about it and listen to the scientists (e.g. the EPA or IPCC). The scientific community is pretty confident that global warming is happening, it is a result of human activity, and it is a serious concern.
   
   So far solutions proposed aren't very good, in my opinion. Primarily they are focused on reducing the emissions of greenhouse gases, but they really don't affect the Machine at all. By Machine I mean the entire way we have organized our world, from the way we build cities, move things around, grow food, etc. Essentially we are trying to make the Machine more efficient. Personally, I don't think this will be enough. I think we need to completely rethink the Machine and build sustainable compact cities, regenerate green zones, and develop sustainable organic food production systems.
   
   There is always the possibility of people gaming the system for their advantage, but theoretically carbon reduction schemes shouldn't do so. Taxing carbon, for instance, isn't meant to make money, it is meant to alter behavior. It is important that these policies are carefully crafted to avoid such unjust enrichments.

      Isn't the EPA and IPCC both funded by the government? So aren't they essentially government agencies? So don't listen to politicians, but listen to the agencies they fund? In my opinion, carbon taxes will weaken the economy even further.

      Pick any scientific agency on the planet. Ideally people would listen to the science, but very few people will ever read primary research or be able to understand it. A scientific agency is at least closer to the actual science.

      I don't trust any government agency.  Most government agencies put out inaccurate information, for example, The Federal Reserve lies about how much inflation really is.

      I wouldn't ask anyone to automatically trust any organization, but in the case of scientific organizations, all of their work is open for you to see. Feel free to go in and disprove it.

   The public gave it the benefit of the doubt for some time, but few outside the community of the faithful still buy the doctrine of anthropogenic climate change. Its acolytes have been exposed too many times falsifying evidence, silencing honest dissent and trying to rig public discourse for them to retain any credibility.
   
   Human beings never change. We repeat the same patterns over and over, throughout history. Today's climate change believers are the contemporary equivalent of Medieval clerics. They have an orthodoxy to which all must adhere. They persecute heretics. They manipulate state policy. They suppress contrary information, pompously declare rules of discussion that award guaranteed if false validity to themselves, constantly assure everyone that there can be no dispute of their veracity, set themselves up as exclusive owners of The Truth and deny legitimacy to anyone who dares deny their claims. They even have succeeded in setting up their faith as  a contemporary equivalent of a state religion funded by government, one to which all taxpayers are forced to contribute.
   
   Fortunately, the people are onto it. The ride can't last much longer. No doubt the faith's bishops know that and are cashing in just as Al Gore has before the movement falls apart. Its lesser adherents and promotional fanatics, just as unfortunately, will be left bereft and adrift when the stars of the faith have absconded to private islands in the Caribbean, but so it goes. It's the foot soldiers who always have to take the bullets and then make their way back home once it's all over.

      Research the facts. Ask the starving around the globe if climate change and global warming affects them. Look at the eradication of many species of fish needed to fee millions. Look at the deforestation that is destroying the habitats.Just look.

   Global warming and climate change are definitely not hoaxes. We can see the collateral damages these cataclysms have impacted on lives all around the world. Drought and floods lead to the destruction of houses, infrastructure and food crops. These in turn increases our food expenditure and our stress. When we cannot cope with stress, we will be depressed.
   
   I think the government is not profiting from global warming and climate change. There aren't any good things about them. They will have an impending effect on our daily lives, well, the effect is already insidious. No one can escape the plight of our earth is suffering from, not even the government. And what is the government doing now? They proceed on with the burning of fossil fuels and uses much more electricity than the citizens.

   It is difficult to accept a theory, which is supposedly based on scientific principles, when the very proponents of the theory purposefully convolute and obstruct that which is essential to the advancement of any scientific concept.  Namely, the open and welcome invitation for others to attempt to disprove it. 
   
   As has been seen time and time again, the so-called scientific climate change proponents do all that is possible to interfere, block or otherwise evade those whose sole mission is to effect due diligence over the theory. 
   
   Concurrent to this, the non-scientific proponents/followers of this movement simply engage in a zealous and vocal advancement of the concept through tactics which can be described as intimidation and fear propagation upon society in general.  The latter is done to such a degree that it can be defined as being quasi-indoctrination.
   
   Throughout all of this, the funding and infrastructure required for such an undertaking is taken up by groups and individuals whose agendas and underlying motives vary, but rarely share true science or even the population's welfare in high regard; this, regardless of what their public countenance may otherwise display or claim.
   
   The climate change movement derides inconvenient facts; in so doing, it relinquishes its legitimacy.  If anything, the present construct of the movement can be equated more to a faith based belief system than actual science.

      You have a wonderful ability to express yourself and I agree with much of what you have said. I still believe if we examine the facts before us all, we will confirm that the climate and warming to be a real dilemma, needing much attention.

   If it were a hoax, why would Exxon Mobil spend $1.5 million to support disinformation groups in 2009?
   
   There is money flowing in on both sides of the issue, but one side has much deeper pockets.

      One of people's greatest weaknesses is to allow what sounds good permeate their very lives. What sounds bad is shunned and we would all much rather not to confront bad news. The few who stand up and pull the load for others may not be able to last.
