Will you vote in the 2012 presidential elections?
I always vote, though I often feel that I have to choose between inadequate parties. So the question. Will you vote or will you abstain from voting in November?
Absolutely I will vote! If you can't take the time to vote, regardless who is running then you have no right to complain about the job they are doing whether good or bad.
I will vote, even though I feel the voting population is no longer represented. I believe our state and federal governments have been bought and sold to the highest bidder. Corporations and big moneyed interests now control our government on both sides of the aisle. This includes the Supreme Court!
Having said that, I still think voting is the right thing to do. I still have hope that things will work out.
I will be voting in November for sure. I feel that it is important to excercise our right to have our opinions heard. I just wish that I had more confidence in the candidates.
Yes, I will definitely vote in the 2012 presidential election, and only for one reason: To do my part to get a Republican into the White House.
And the reason why I personally want the next president to be a Republican is, if and/or when the U.S. goes to war against Iran, North Korea, Red China and/or Russia, the nation will be far better off if a Republican leads the war effort than if a Democrat is in charge.
I must also say, Throughout U.S. history, each of the major political parties have been "inadequate," and the reason why that has been the case is things are supposed to be that way.
If the day ever comes when the nation is headed by leadership that the people largely deem to be "adequate," we will find ourselves being ruled by a fascist dictatorship.
What I am driving up to is, when a society is always displeased with and at odds with its political leaders and government, it remains free.
On the other hand, however, the only societies in which the majority of the members are always pleased with and on the same page as their political leaders and governments are such fascist regimes of the past as Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, and such contemporary ones as Cuba, North Korea and Red China.
I respect your opinion and I hate to differ with you. But I'm not sure what you said about people being pleased with fascist regimes. What is your supporting evidence for this claim? Mussoline was executed in a most vicious way by his own citizens.
Peoplepower, when the likes of Lenin, Hitler, Mussolini, Mao zedong and Castro first came into power, the majority of the people in each of their societies just about idolized them -- and only a very few viewed any one of them as being a "bad guy."
feenix: I agree with you about when they first come into power, they are pleased, but after that, it's long term oppression that stifles them, until they have had it...look at the Arab Spring.
Peoplepower, my point is, because Americans have always largely viewed government as being "inadequate," this country has never reached the point where the people became so disenchanted they were moved to carry out a bloody revolt.
I try to vote in every election where there are issues that I am educated about.
Not a chance, for the exact same reasons that peoplepower73 mentions. The non-vote is a vote of "No Confidence"
Yes, I will definately vote for Romney. If president Obama is elected a second term, I'm not sure America will be the same nation it once was, I fear for the nation!
I abosolutely agree. Even if peoplepower73 is right (and I believe he is), I don't want guilt on my conscience of NOT voting to get Obama off his road to destroying America financially and morally. Romney will UNDO Obama's blow to this Country.
I second those thoughts - we have to take back our Country before it is to far gone.....
Hi Everyone! Here's a simple survey that will line you up with the Presidential Candidate you have the most in common with. I ended up with my top two of 95% Ron Paul and 95% Gary Johnson with like 76% with Romney (lol wut?) only 9% with Obama (This one surprised me more than the Romney which was still a shocker.) Post your results. Also, some of the sections are expandable so don't forget to look at like Foreign Issues and answer the extra questions.
