Surprise! The nonpartisan CBO just put out a new report that said Obamacare was going to hit 6 million uninsured people, mostly in the middle class, with a tax penalty averaging $1200. Way to go Big O!

Sassy, they always talk about the arithmetic but don't know how to apply it. LOL!
The numbers given are actually for 2016 by which time the tax break should have allowed plenty of savings from people who are making at least 22 000+ (assuming a family)
Josak, you do not get the tax break unless you've purchased insurance. They can't afford insurance which must be paid monthly. It's not like the ins. co. will wait till the end of the year for payment. The penalties begin in 2014 not 2016.
The penalties for 2014 are much lighter however.
It is apparent that you should read the Law Josak. The penalties are per person or a percentage of income whichever is GREATER. There is no flat penalty. Even so, that isn't anyone "saving" any money to help them.
