Why do 3, one and a half hour debates carry so much weight?

One idea to me is that it's the only time you hear responses without the spin of media or campaign contributors. What else do you think?

True. But I would think that by this point, you would know everyone's platform, agenda and background. In other words, you've probably already made up your mind. Maybe the debates would be more valuable if held 6 months ago instead of now.

Your second sentence sounds very much like E-mail or Hubpages. People get out their whole thoughts without any interuption. Sometimes good. Sometimes rude. Thx.
