I see a moving sea of people who have hope for the future, buildings that anchor those people to their history, buildings that mark new achievements, plenty of green spaces, and actual neighborhoods where people watch out for each other. I see farms feeding the city and not being randomly devoured by people fleeing the city from overcrowded conditions. (That's the reason for fleeing that I hear cited most often, but there is no way the reason is that simple. I see systems of water and power that can grow with the city, or shrink if needed. The physical form is constantly changing, unless it is a planned city like Washington DC which is a national symbol as well as a city. Even that city will grow around the avenues in unexpected ways. I like the fact that cities are constantly changing. I have never been to one that doesn't.
