Typically it has been my experience that candidates for president promise "something for everyone." Interestingly, in Election 2012, it seems that this time (with the National Debt over $16.2 Trillion dollars) there is no money left to make the big vote-getting promises, and what we have had instead is the mirage of "nobody will have to sacrifice" and "don't worry, everything will be okay just the way it is going now!" Is it true that voters will be unprepared psychologically for the sacrifices which will have to be made for "everything to be okay"? Or did I miss it when it was called for?

Good points, and I hasten to add that Pennsylvania Avenure is a two wy street. The Legislative and The Executive need to make real efforts to work together. Senate and House need to work together, and now is the purging time, not later.
It got $6 trillions more expensive during the time of the last leader's tenure. It can't get much more expensive than that....or can it?
Meantime the deficit grows over those five years. Then again, we have people in Washington DC who seem to think "What's a trillion dollars, more or less!" Frugality has not been practiced for a long, long time! It needs to be, now.
