Yes, I did...as I have in every election since 1964. I was among the 71% of registered voters in my city who turned out. This year I worked at a polling place for the first time. It was a long day, but a very interesting and enjoyable civics lesson. We were sworn in at 6:30 AM and I left at 9:15 PM.
People say, "If you don't vote, you have no right to complain." I don't buy that school of thought. If you pay taxes...that's what gives you the right to complain. But if people don't vote, I think it's a gut-punch to our military and to our democratic way of life. Whether they vote or not, someone else is going to call the shots for them, so they might as well have a hand in it.
