Do you think the world will end? or worse, a natural disaster, such as storms or solar flares, that turns mankind against one another to survive. Have you done anything to prepare for such an event?

So you don't think there's anything true to the predictions about the natural disasters? I was fine until I watched the history channel last night!
I would rather not survive at all if things are horrible. But it scares me that people would try to kill each other for their supplies. I'm supposed to travel for Christmas that day--is that a bad idea? :-)
That sounds like an excellent idea. Its the very definition of faith. Travel, because your destination will be there on the 22nd.
Absolutely you should travel!!! The more fun you have, the better. Confuse the devil, Vee...he won't know where you are!! LOL
Victoria- talking to a friend about it & he said something that you can completely appreciate so I am totally sharing.
If the Myans are correct - we can't do anything about that but I don't buy it. The Myans didn't even predict their own demise.
Yeah, what if? I have plenty of food always in my house. I could survive if people would leave me alone. But guns? I don't have that and no desire to have gun. That part scares me a little.
Let me help you set your mind at ease. You have absolutely nothing to worry about. You are making way too much out of something that could happen but probably will not. You have to realize that every day could be your last and this kind of end of
Cool answer. :-) What about the predictions re: the earth and sun aligning and the solar flares? Was that also estimated based on the leap year days?
Vee....Hey GF!! I have an absolutely PERFECT solution for you. STOP WATCHING THE HISTORY CHANNEL......LOL
Effer, you're right. I watched it the other night and it freaked me out. Talk about Doomsday. the sun shutting down the electrical grid, people killing each other for food. Like an episode for revolution. They make it sound like it IS going to happen
We watch a lot of the same shows, and if you truly listen carefully, they never actually reach ANY conclusions at all. It's only speculation. They always wrap up with a "no one knows" type of statement.
Yeah, Dzy, they do say those things at some point, after they've said it WILL happen. LOL. Why do they do that? Try to scare people? At least they don't do it on regular cable where the masses would see all that. stuff.
I will check that out, Rosie. I saw something about NASA on a hub. Thanks!
Hello. I skimmed through the Q & A at that site and hurried back to share the word. I'm late it seems by 15 hours. I'm more curious if I can type 12/12/12 at work all day long. If I pass that test then 12/21/12 will offer a new challenge. :)
Yeah, I could survive for a long time if people would just leave me alone! :-)
That's a great idea!
Yeah, that would be sad for hubby!
Besides, even the descendants of the Incas say it is misnterpreted info, just another Y2k, etc, etc, etc.
Yeah, I'm not concerned about the Mayan calendar, but what about the studies on the aligning of the earth and milky way, the sun's solar flares, etc . . . due to detonate.... I wouldn't care until the History Channel last night acted like it's over.
Vee.......Does Y2K ring a bell?
Yes, Effer, but I didn't worry about Y2k. That was all about computers, wasn't it? I partied at my dj's brother's gig like it was 1999! Oh, yeah, it WAS 1999! :-) I don't know why this thing has gotten to me. Damn history channel!
LOL! That's a good one! Happy birthday, too!
LOL! Great answer. Wish I had thought of that. I could pay off my mortgage!
Love the zombie angle!
My husband was working in the computer industry during the "Y2K" thing..and the inside information was that it was nothing more than a marketing ploy to get people to buy new computers. Apparently, Bill Gates didn't think he had enough money already
LOL. Good one. Yeah, I probably have lots of foods with those dates. I have never thought it would be the end of the world. It's only the predicted nature events that freak me out a bit sometimes. :-)
Let's crack it! That's funny!
If the world ends, we go on to something better, many believe. Even nothing would be better than the fear of trying to survive every day if things got really bad. Hmmmm . . . maybe a party on Dec 21st to celebrate the beginning of the next cycle!
