Too often scientists are seen as aloof from the world, rarely deigning to descend from their ivory towers of knowledge. This means that important research gets ignored, lost in the ether or poorly communicated to the wider public (think the GM crop scandal in the UK). How can scientists prevent these misunderstandings and transmit their findings to the world in a way that is clear and concise, but that does not compromise scientific integrity?
