"... raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here.’ Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better. I therefore intend to oppose the effort to increase America’s debt limit.

So Obama was right then? but now he is saying that what he said then " was just an example of a new senator making what is a political vote as opposed to doing what was important for the country." That's OK with you that he totally flip flopped?
A rather "broad statement?" If that is so that is all the guy ever makes because all his pronpouncements about budgets and the economy lack specifics. You continue to worship at his altar truth be damned. Amazing.
Changing one's position based upon knowledge and experience doesn't count as a flip-flop. Obama admits his past position was a mistake. I don't have a problem with that.
Changing one's position because you're a Democratic spend-a-holic is a flip-flop. Listen to Obama's trying to rationalize creating more debt to pay off existing debt. Try it out junko and get back with us as to just how that works for you & you
