What Peeples says is right. How would we know of such a person unless we'd actually met him or her. And even then we wouldn't know for certain, for there might be a 'greater' working just down the street, or over the hill, or in another country altogether.
It is said that we're never left without our 'masters (and I assume this refers to both men and women 'masters') These people, one would assume are saintly in nature - fully enlightened - and do nothing but 'good works.' It's likely they'd have no interest in fame. Indeed, they might even regard it as a hindrance - who knows.
