I've been published online but that's easy to do.  What I would like is to get at least one of my novels published in the traditional way, i.e., in print, by a major publishing house and in bookstores. After so many rejections I can't count, I'm convinced it's easier to win the lottery than it is to get published.

Alex, a writing teacher once told me you should aim for at least 5 rejections a week!  (That means you're getting it out there enough).  Kinda like, the more lottery tickets you purchase, the more chances to win smile

    Balance

An understanding of what would be good for me personally. Craving fame and fortune in my early days and not obtaining it has taught me that finding the true balance is important. I believe no one is truely happy with the achievements they have gained until they have gained the achievement of inner peace in a balanced life.

I continue to strive to achieve a healthy life balance.  Working in healthcare for 21 years as an RN, my life was primarily work focused for more than 2 decades.  Although I have a family, my job many times forced me to backburner some things.  As a result, my life was out of balance.  Today, I work each day to keep my life in balance.  I strive to reach out to my family and let them know how much I love them.  I connect with friends as I can and am working to cultivate hobbies.

I think for myself I've achieved most of what I wanted to.
I believe if there was anything left to achieve it would be telling the people I went to school with that I'm just like they are.
I do have a disability and they still think I need to learn a lesson
I've learned many lessons in life they have no idea of.
I've had to make life and death decisions, I helped bring up two boys.
I worked until I needed the first of many, too many spine surgeries.
But I've cheated death. Or overcame it more than once.
Maybe I should write a book. That would be nice.
    But where to start.
    That's all for now.

I have yet to complete my two books, have them published, and made into movies.  My goal is to become filthy rich so that I can be care free and dedicate my life and my money to helping the homeless and those who are abused, sick or disabled, poverty stricken, etc.  I would like to help others realize their dream and achieve their goals and ambitions.

When I was a kid, I wanted to do/be several things at various stages in growing up process:
I wanted to be in the Air Force...Made it to Ssgt (E-5)
Wanted to be a Firefighter/Paramedic....Retired as Assistant Chief
Wanted to be a cop....Served as a reserve Sheriff's Deputy
Wanted to be a trucker...Accumulated 1.5 million safe miles (over-the-road truck drivers measure their careers in miles as opposed to years). Owned my own truck for a while.
Wanted to be a reporter....had to drop out of college when I got sent to Korea, never restarted my studies.
Wanted to be a writer...you tell me....
I've done most of the things I set out to do when I was 12. Had a few setbacks, hit a few obstacles, got distracted a couple of times. But to quote Larry the Cable Guy, I got 'er done.
Had a few surprises along the way: got married, had a house full of kids.
Which brings me to where I am now on the way to wherever it is we're all going. And now, I'm gonna enjoy the middle to final stages of my kids growing up, spoil the grandkids- have 2 with #3 due in 6 weeks, kick out a few half-sensible articles and op/eds, have some fun, help out when and where I can, figure out what I'm gonna do next and try to leave the place in a little better shape than I found it.

To become a published poet. This has always been my dream, to walk into a book store and see my work in print. To have a publishing company have enough confidence in my ability that they give me the chance to publish a book of poetry.
