   What is there to feel unsafe about?  You advertise. Someone buys. You make sure their check clears before shipping the merchandise. 
   You buy something, you send a money order so your personal checking account information is not available to the seller.  You have their address (needed in order to send your payment).  If they default, you notify Craigs list and the authorities of potential fraud.
   It is no different than buying any item on line, or posting your stuff of Ebay. 
   If the item you buy is too big to ship, you go to pick it up with a friend.
   If the item you sell is too big to ship, you make sure there is someone at home with you when they come to pick it up.
   Or use FedEx or UPS to ship.

   No.  Craigslist, to me, has become so creepy because of the awful things that have occurred on and because of this list.  I avoid it at all costs.  I don't think it is appropriate to use for any type of product because of its notorious happenings.

   It's not something I would feel safe using.  It's the type of site that would attract wrongdoers and that's why I wouldn't get involved at all.  In the past I have responded to ads on there, now I know better.  I have never fallen for a scam as it were, but the opportunity has presented itself there.

   Craigslist is the "wild west" of the internet. You can find almost anything from illegal drugs to garden tractors.Every scamster on this planet applies his skills on CL hoping you'll fall for their scheme.
   But Craigslist represents the freedom we fought for all these years.Freedom means not being completely safe.
   How many things don't cost anything to use? Your local paper accepts your ad readily and for usually very little money but they can't reach out to the world like Craigslist can. With risks comes rewards and think about it....not much is safe anymore anyway.

   I've used Craigslist to sell my own home, purchase items as well as find jobs and apartments and I've never had a bad thing happen to me.

   Yes,  I normally meet the buyer or seller at our local Target's parking lot. It put's us in a populated setting, where there are many people around us.

    Two experiences with CraigsList.
    1.  My husband bought a car on eBay (biggest argument EVER).  It was in California.  We are NOT.  Before the seller actually shipped the car to us (we had already paid him), he tried to sell it for a higher cost on CraigsList.  A person who had bid on the car on eBay alerted us, and we called the seller on it.  He shipped immediately to avoid the trouble we were going to cause him.
    
    2.  We had a class at our church about dealing with grief.  We wanted folks in the community to come and expand our audience beyond the walls of the church.  We advertised the class on CraigsList.  OH MY GOODNESS.  Strangest assortment of people in that class EVER. 
    
    I do not trust CraigsList to buy anything and would never sell anything that way.  I think the intentions were initially good.  I think the problem is in the audience.  There are a lot of skeevy folks trolling that list.  Ew.  Just ew.
    
    Disclaimer:  I really don't sell anything.  I donate stuff we don't use.  So I'm not sure it's fair that I even answered the question.
