There is much profit to be made from continuous wars so those who make that profit want wars to drag out as long as possible.
It is now evident that fighting the taliban is a losing battle, so the only recourse is to try and stop the war amicably but with caution.  We will never be able to turn our backs on them, or let down our guard.
I never did know exactly what the basis for this fighting was anyway.
The same goes for the war on drugs. If that war is stopped those profiteers would lose billions ++  of dollars - so that one must continue by government sanction.
The drug war should be stopped also, by public demand. People are going to do drugs no matter the penalties - so at least let them do them legally.  That fight is only on moral grounds anyway, and does this government actually think they can save people from themselves by further ruining lives with fines and jail terms?

What about they want to keep their sypremacy in the region? After all, our drug production and distribution starts on the Afghan platform? Let's remember that the Talibans banned the culture of opium whereas Karzai encourages it.

R U saying that the U.S. is fighting the taliban so the Afgans can grow drugs? That seems somewhat shallow.

No, I'm saying that we are growing drugs with the complicity of Karzai. The Talibans are against it therefore our opposition. We don't care about their religion and their strict application of their religion to their people. We care about profit.

This question is so lopsided. The Answer is obvious to anyone with any sense. The Taliban are absolute, criminal fanatical idiots that love weapons more than love. I am amazed at America. What tolerance, what caring policy, what a drive to end suffering that is not even on their land.

Car bombs, child bombs, killing children on purpose denying women any rights, trying to stomp out education. Not standing up and identifying themselves or their purpose, hiding like dogs to avoid normal consequence.
The Taliban should be hunted like the dogs they are and slaughtered to remove the blight on our human condition.

Of course I cannot really abide by that, and I hope many prayers are answered in oneness in dialogue and a hope (Esperanza) for our children. I actually praise all, and lift up all, who endeavor to end the conflicts in dialogue. I am pleased you asked such a good question and started us to dialogue.
But let me ask you,,,,, Why did it take you so long to ask this question?

Thanks for not taking offense at my rant. Ooops! I reckon I am a bit embarrassed. But your nice comment, has helped me to lighten up. Again Kudos for the question. Did you know it took a year for them to decide the shape of the table for Vietnam?
