Why does Obama lie so blatantly?

Austria holds plane of Bolivia president Evo Morales at Vienna airport for several hours at US request to search for Edward Snowden. Didn't Obama  say? "won't engage in wheeling and dealing to get NSA leaker Snowden extradited to US"

This is on top of "closing  Gitmo" and having a more "transparent administration". Seems the only thing that is apparent is how comfortable he is in his power zone that shields him.

As far as I can tell (every) candidate fails to live up to all of their promises made in an election. I cannot think of a single one who did everything he or she said they would.
I suspect what happens most of the time the candidate thinks he or she knows everything there is to know about making a decision until they are actually sitting in a chair listening to advisors that they grasp just how complex some issues are.
At one point out here in Illinois there was talk about using an empty prison to hold prisoners from Quantanamo Bay. Having suspected terrorists in our back yard did not sit well! I can't imagine too many other states want to house them either.
I also believe every "new" president believes the old president didn't know what they were doing. Whether someone liked president Bush's policies or not there can be no doubt that he did what he thought was best to protect out shores. It was president Bush that pushed for the Patriot Act  and the increase in domestic spying. (Note) All industrialized countries do this on some level in hopes catching terrorists before they act.  J. Edgar Hoover had been spying on citizens many decades ago. I imagine both Democrats and Republicans responsible for national security would have no problem defending the methods in place to protect the country. Make no mistake about it Snowden is still a (fugitive) and the president is going to allow law enforcement to do their job. He's not going to personally oversee the process.

Disagree  #1  over 100 acquitted Gitmo prisoners will never be released - ever. #2 although empty campaign promises are the norm - I can't think of 1 single one he kept - including healthcare that just been gutted until 2014.

He promised to get Bin Laden, we did. He got the healthcare bill passed. Implimenting it was always going to be a challenge. Troops are coming home from Iraq. He helped GM recover. It's impossible not to have done (one) good thing and get re-elected.

How do we know he got Osama? More government lies. Osama died in 2002 and had nothing to do with 9/11. Solid steel never offers Zero resistance as government scientists claim about WTC7. Lies!

Those in powerful elitist positions do not care what the average citizen thinks or says. They do not usually feel threatened by the people...unless enough of them decide to do something about it. Americans have not collectively come to the place where they want to do something about wide-spread governmental corruption. The majority are still comfortable with their lifestyles.

dashingscorpio  you said "It's impossible not to have done (one) good thing and get re-elected."

If that is so, then please explain Bush43.

Since I could not comment twice on your answer  - I'm abusing this Q&A and should go to the forum on this one. If there is a link in the forum about this then please add it to this  'answer'.  Thank you.

It is an open secret that over 80% of incumbents get re-elected and therefore does not indicate a mandate by the people.

It depends on one's views. Here is on link. http://us-presidents.findthedata.org/q/ … plishments He also did a lot to help combat AIDS in Africa. Some people in the U.S. loved the tax cuts as well.

America is for sale to the highest bidder and Obama has done well by the financial industries (profiteers), the multinational arms interests and the lawyers & unions.
You have to remember that Obama comes from the most corrupt political machine in the country so he is an accomplished and polished liar. He was a mediocre junior senator and one of the biggest pork barrel spenders in the country 3rd behind Barbra Boxer and Diane Feinstein.
The fact is that there hasn't been a president for America's best interest since WWII one could easily argue that it goes back much further than that, I wouldn't call them wrong.
But you have, essentially,  2 party system with both parties are equally corrupt and a media who is equally corrupt it is almost impossible for voters to make a good choice. Add to this that the voters themselves are willing to vote for whoever supports their particular pork, regardless of whether it is good for America.
It is unlikely that this will change until the US finally goes over the edge of no return, we are probably already there.
In the very near future the US dollar will cease to be the international currency of exchange and then all hell will beak loose.

They only tell enough lies to keep the sheep asleep. The Corporate Party media works for the same people who pull the strings of the President and Congress. The system is corrupt to the core.

And any president who dares step out of line will have the CIA to contend with. Remember what happened to JFK? E. Howard Hunt confessed on his deathbed that government operatives killed Kennedy and he was part of that Big Event.

The Beast is maturing. Armageddon is just around the corner. The End of Times began with the rebirth of Israel. The clock is ticking.

Heavenly Father, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come...
