Only 25% of the population participated in the American Revolution, Would you participate in a revolution against government today?

I believe that drawing down on two 10 year old wars will help turn things around. The stock market has been at all time high. Housing prices are starting to rise. It's unlikely things will fall apart in 18 months. Times were worse at the end of 2008.
We are experiencing the same things that occurred in 1929-30 when everything failed. Total employed is 2.2 million less than the greatest number in 2008. sequestration will create a loss of 20% of prior tax revenue. obamacare? disaster is on its way
taburkett, I am not sure were you live and if I have just been lucky to live in areas that aren't experiencing the things that influence you opinions, but if we didn't revolt during the Bush years, I doubt we will in the next 18 months.
The stance of previous administrations did not divide the USA like the current one.The closest period to the current one is Vietnam. The promise for prosperity never surfaces due to the wide wild division of radicals. Thus risk of revolution is greater
I will leave you to your opinions, and it makes me realize how we as a people can look at the same country and see totally different visions of it.
Perception does not provide a research fact.that is why many USA citizens fail to recognize the pitfalls.obamacare is one of those perceptions.so is the UBL assassination.all orchestrated as motivational movie scenes.deception at its worst.
Research facts are as skewed as our views for every positive I see you can come up with a negative fact to counter and vice versa. Probably the truth be told somewhere in the center is the real FACT!
I do not work on speculation or anyone else's.As an experienced researcher I follow the facts.the current administration is doing everything it can to divide the nation. Each new agenda presented brings the nation closer to destruction.A deadly game.
No one can compare the dark clouds and misery this country had during the Bush years. That's why the country swung so fully to Obama. Bush was a joke. The banks were about to collapse. Remember the bailouts? Iraq was a mess. People forget easily.
Many people like to blame others for their failure. But astute individuals seek the facts. When the current administration took over they spent more in less time and achieved less than previous administrations.Facts do not support the blame game.
For the Democrats to win back to back terms defeats everything you have said. People wanted a change. That's obvious. And yes, each individual is responsible for their own situations, but the government can help with business. They did that. A fact.
Sri - once again you have made my point for me.Fraud and deceit was used to keep the destruction in motion. It is quite evident based on the multiple political scandals. This along with a tyrant will bring dangerous division. Thanks.
Don't worry, the pendulum will swing to Republicans for the next president if they become inclusive. And talk about a fast track to destruction, you will really see a disaster in the making.
The situation is not based on the party, but the corruption of the individual. With all corrupt leadership risk of destruction is abundant. Therefore it is the deceitful individual that destroys the nation. That is why the current executive must go.
There has never been nor will there ever be a president who is not corrupt. The good ones just don't get caught.
Sei - you obviously have not researched past Presidents. William Henry Harrison died on his 32nd day in office - not enough time to be corrupt as President. But you have lumped all of them into the same mold as Obama.
Tarburkett, you are not familiar with basic human nature. There is no such thing as an honest man. Maybe you didn't notice. Every human being is corrupt at some level. Especially those in public office.
The stock market highs are a direct consequence of destructive Federal Reserve actions that will end with a precipitous collapse of the Market and the Dollar.
SriT you are living in fantasy land! I have been in business for myself, I have paid taxes, I see how the left are destroying the freedoms that allow the poor to get ahead. The more liberal we become the higher the number at the poverty level
It depends on what level of business you are on. Business growth is due to the ideas that you put into action. How great is the demand? The people making millions have a consistent strong demand for their products. My friend has 10 gas stations. And?
That is true, Patriot Quest. The more liberal and socialistic our country becomes the more poverty will increase. As the government becomes more powerful, the people become poorer and more repressed.
That old myth that "we are the government" is one of the most damaging lies ever implanted in the American public mind.
No we are the ones who elect government and put in place the very ones who misuse that power. The problem is that elections are corrupted and the media is corrupted. Still we chose to elect from the same 2 parties and pick the worst of the worst.
You have a point, Attikos. Most Americans are still too comfortable to think like that. Americans have become legendary in tolerating tyranny.
Won't succession create a new government? Do you think the politicians that run it will be "better" than the power hungry men and women who choose to "serve the public" today? No one becomes a politician for purely "altruistic" reasons.
By that light, the American colonies should never have left Britain, Ukraine should still be part of the USSR, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia should still be intact.
Attikos, Apparently that's the case since so many people are "unhappy" with the government we have today after the American colonies defeated the British. Why do they think a succession or another revolutionary war would result in a better gov.?
Perhaps they've the same reasons the colonists had? Crushing taxation, increasingly authoritarian government, rising systemic injustice, a state out of touch with the people, a belief limited government might be better? Just a thought.
Succession will ALLOW those state governments that are still conservative to stay that way. I live in a state that not ONE COUNTY voted for this administration. We enjoy our freedom, our state and the opportunities other states don't have.
Patriot Quest, There are lots of conservative states in the U.S. just as there are liberal ones. However you never hear of the liberal ones wanting to break away after any election. A state remains liberal or conservative regardless of who is in D.C.
Hell no they don't want to break away, They live off of US!! You think CA or NY has money? Business is leaving them daily to come to my state! They are entitlement states living off our paychecks! We dont need them! they need us!
Lol, hey Patriot Quest...wouldn't it be great if all the liberals moved to one area and left the rest of us alone? Then they could have their socialist crap and the rest of us could prosper! :)
Amazon is prospering while Barnes and Noble is falling apart. Both sell books. Same country. But who has the best ideas and strategies?
I don't think you could say California is living off any state really. If it were it's own country it would be the 12th largest economy in the world! The GSP is about $1.9 trillion, which is 13.06% of the United States gross! No other state is close
Unfortunately the election process is so corrupted that the people no longer know who or what they are electing. The media is equally corrupted and the courts are right there with them. Elections aren't won they are bought.
Borsia, Do you believe there were ever non-corrupt elections? They all are smear campaigns and which side digs up the most dirt and spends the most on ads usually win. No matter who wins 50% of the people will be unhappy. It's a game between parties.
Well said! BTW The US is number 13 on the World Happiness Scale... we would probably be higher if all the Sad Sacks would think solution instead of making everything a problem and your confusing Nationalism with Patriotism!
Your description of "not perfect" is slightly askew based on the current level of corruption in the Executive and supportive Administration. The number of scandals in the current Executive is horrible.
There has always been and there will always be people who are successful regardless of conditions. No excuses. There is always a way. People who blame the outside are ignoring the power within themselves. The very ideas that would make them richer.
