I would say yes. Although this is not nearly as barbaric as some tactics we have seen portrayed on crime dramas or reported on the news, it is still based on quack psychology and/or indulges the interrogator's and warrior's/law enforcement agent's basest desire to dominate, and in some cases the downright sadistic pleasure taken in abusing one's authority.
You cannot "punish" or "discomfort" the truth out of somebody. That's a fact and that's that.
