Hard as hell to amend the constitution isn't it. The one thing that allows for a country not to suck forever too.
It's hard as hell to get the congress to abide by the existing one as well.
Term limits tend to deprive us of the benefits of expertise acquired in years of service in Congress and leave us at the mercy of lobbyists who are all too eager to write our legislation.
No...Term limits encourage lobbyist to partner with the same people repeatedly who get entrenched. The founders never intended politics to be a career. The first 50 yrs of the republic, half of the congress served one term.
Wow...excellent thought, LW-- "The founders never intended politics to be a career." Very true. The office of a public servant was not meant to be a platform for grasping for all the power and riches you could get.
