Hi Andrew Savage. Norway has already created a Thorium reactor at one of their test sites: Thor Energy. So the answer is yes, Thorium will be used in new nuclear reactors due to the several advantages it has over uranium. For example, thorium is safe, clean and produces less waste compared to uranium. Thorium deposits are also more abundant than those of uranium. However, some scientists are complaining of the high costs incurred in processing it and testing thorium bases reactors.
