What should happen to the nuclear bombs that have been accidently lost, but their location known?

There have been some nuclear bombs that have been accidently dropped or lost and the generalized locations are known. Some of these nuclear bombs are alive and activated while some are not. One such nuclear bomb is off the South Carolina/Georgia coast. When the Soviet Union dissolved, there were some other bombs disappeared, which were said to be the size of suitcases.

Yeah! It's not like the US will need them since they have more than 2,000 active warheads :)

So the new medical techniques for sucking the knowledge of how to build a thermonuclear weapon out of the heads of weapons designers has proven up to the task? Nuclear weapons are their own deterrent, it was a Cold War for a reason.
