   FBI Crime Statistics for 2013 - the 5 most dangerous states run by Republicans. Coincidence?
   
   The 5 worst, and 8 of the worst 10, crime states are run by Republicans. 10. Oklahoma (Rep), 9. Maryland (Dem), 8. Florida (Rep), 7. Louisiana (Rep), 6. Delaware (Dem), 5. South Carolina (Rep), 4. New Mexico (Rep), 3. Alaska (Rep), 2. Nevada (Rep), 1. Tennessee (Rep). I guess they need even more guns.

   I'm not so sure I agree with your supposition of the worst crime states. I'd say that Illinois is waaaaay up there, so is California, so is New York. Is this is statistic and BY WHOM or is this your OPINION? One only need to read the Chicago Tribune on any Monday to read of the killings in the double digits that occurred over the weekend, Illinois is 'run' by Democrat Pat Quinn.
   
   Violence in my state, Colorado, governed by John Hickenlooper has been great. The Aurora shooters in the movie theatre comes to mind and some years ago the killings in Columbine at an elementary school./ Those are just 2 states off the top of my head. . If I did research, I'd be presenting real stats, but I'm sure that Illinois and Colorado are up there.
   
   Yes, Florida has had individual gun violence and it is governed by a Republican, but i hardly think that individual violence that Chris Mattthew, Jessee Jackson and Al Sharpton bring to the forefront and advertise,, make it more violent. If you can prove me wrong on Floriday with statistics, I'll believe it, but opinioos aren't worth the paper they're printed on for the most part.

      This is based upon FBI crime statistics. Violent crime rate per 100k/murder rate: Florida (487/5.2), Illinois (414/5.8), Colorado (308/3.1), New York (406/3.5), Tennessee (643/6.0).

      y minite math was off; I think the murder rate has dropped to 460 or so, but that''s the taking of a human life-too much.

   I'm inclined to agree with teamrn, Being born and raised in Chicago, and it being the murder capital for some time now, I would think Illinois would have to be way up there.

      Murder rate in Chicago last year was half that of St. Louis. I think the crime issue in Chicago is greatly exaggerated by those who want us to believe that if we 'take away' guns people will start dying in droves. Factually it seems average.

      My comments had nothing to do with taking away of guns. I lived there for 26 years "Over the course of the war ((since 2001, around 2,000 U.S. troops have died in Afghanistan compared to the 5,000 gunfire victims in the Illinois city.". 17/100,000

      teamrn, by murder rate it is still a fairly average city. Your Afghanistan comparison is a good example of dramatics vs. reality.

      Still, 17/100,00. Chicago is a city of EUGHT MILLION. So, per year, if my midnite math is right that's 1360/year
