Do you think it's the governments right/obligation to make us believe and think a particular way?

Is brainwashing by the U.S. government a good thing? Changing our attitudes by laws and misinformation, the government does try and change the way we believe and think. Is this the governments duty?

Had to look that up "parens partriae" - protect the citizens.

I think the government has gone way past "protecting" and is now more like big brother telling us what is good and how to think.

    Just my thoughts.

    I appreciate your answer.

    Cheers

It always seems to be their mission, doesn't it?

I've yet to read about a country that doesn't manipulate the news and information to sway their citizens.

    Great answer!
