How many immigrants should America allow into this country?
Liberals want to give amnesty to some 11-20 million illegal aliens, if we do that, suppose another 20 million illegals cross the border, do we do the same for them? Being that there's over 7 billion people in the world, and most who would benefit greatly by coming here, how many of them should we let in?
I don't think there should be a number for immigrants to be legally permitted into the country. I believe immigrants should be legally permitted into the United States based on the needs of the United States. There are certain skilled positions around the country that are in dire need of staffing. The one that comes to mind is the nursing profession. There are also a number of technical positions as well as others that need to be filled. Immigration, when done correctly, will benefit the country and the immigrants themselves.
Definitely, the needs of this country need to come first, what good are we if our own ship is sinking? There should be a compelling reason to allow people into the country.
Immigrants need to go back to their birth countries and make that country a better place. Someday they will learn that immigration is not the answer. It is the problem.
Well, personally, I think immigration should be prohibited for all countries until the population is controlled. Unfortunately, that will never happen because people can't seem to control themselves and act like adults trying to manage the world's resources - people being the major resource.
In a few short years, the population will reach 11 BILLION! Nearly double the overcrowded current population.
You would think that it would be easy to see that there is no way to manage that large of a population with the Earth's present resources. But no, the people think there will always be food, even though extinctions are already occurring on an unprecedented scale.
People think there will be plenty of clean water, but food and water borne illnesses are a huge problem already and its going to get worse.
People think there is plenty of land to go around. Then why are so many people still wanting to immigrate to other countries? It's because they are running out of land! Land to live on, land to grow food on, land for our animals and necessary food chain species too.
Immigrants need to stop looking for greener grass - there is none. Clean up your own homes, then immigration will settle itself out.
But good luck with that people of Earth. You're going to need all the luck you can find to keep surviving.
Interesting thoughts, but i'd hate to be a christian stuck in Iran or be in North Korea if I believed in freedom.
So would I. But if I was born there, I would rather work towards progressive change in my homeland rather than expect another country to take me in. As Native Americans can attest, immigrants are basically invaders and we are full.
I agree. Sadly, never going to happen. Every country thinks they have it under control. They don't, and the people are blind to it. Living in a fantasy world of wishful thinking.

What do you think of (legal) immigrants to your country?Do you welcome them (in your own mind)? or do you wish they went back to where they came from. I'm not talking about illegals, or refugees.
