   Yes, people are becoming way too easily offended. Many people cannot deal with someone who disagrees with them. This is especially evident on college campuses. What's worse is that many people appeal to authority figures to silence those with whom they disagree.

   Comedians can get away with it because their intention is to draw laughs not to hurt or demean, but in daily life, I always figure why would you use a phrase or word if it makes anyone even the slightest bit uncomfortable. IMHO, Donald Trump's comment that our country is too politically correct could only come from a rich, white guy.  I don't think you get to make those types of statements when you've never been discriminated against.

      I've been discriminated against in the past. It happens. But when colleges have to introduce little "safe rooms" where students can run to to hide when they meet ideas contrary to their own, we have a serious PC problem.

   You get micro-managing of daily interactions down to criticism of language, when you give people that power.
   And to make it worse, political correctness gives the veto power to the most emotional person, often delusional or irrational. You have to be silent because X says you're word choice or stated views might be offensive to group C. You aren't allowed to read that book in public, wear that T-shirt, because we say so. And if you don't fall into line, they throw a tantrum. And if that doesn't work, the illiberal liberal mob comes out to shout you down, threaten your safety because your contrary views threaten their world view and try to drive you out of your job, your home, your social life.
