Unfortunately, it's to do too little too late---and to compromise with countries who have a long, consistent record of human rights abuses (such as Iran and Russia). Also, the flock of Syrians having to make their way into other countries is a result of the Obama/Hillary/Kerry waiting game. Had they stepped in to help those who were trying to protect themselves from Bashar Hafez al-Assad's regime from the get-go, we would not have millions of refugees seeking asylum in Europe and elsewhere. Now these European countries are straining their already limited budgets to accommodate these refugees. When Obama first promised the Syrian rebels military help, they greeted our ambassador with an abundance of flowers. But then, no ammunition came and the rebels were left to fight the battle alone. The Syrians are now highly suspicious of us. They no longer trust America. We are viewed as weak throughout the world---and indeed, we have been. Furthermore, the consequences of our do-nothing attitude has been disastrous.
