A CNN report accused Dr. Ben Carson of lying about key details about his life in his autobiography, “Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story.” His campaign admitted to Politico’s Kyle Cheney that he lied about another key detail in his autobiography — his application and acceptance to West Point. In “Gifted Hands,” Carson claimed that when he was 17 years old, he met with General William Westmoreland, and was offered a “full scholarship” to the military academy. There’s no record of such an offer, or of Carson having applied, and there’s no such thing as a “full scholarship” to West Point.

Thank you for taking time to share so much info with us Kathleen. Almost seems like Carson is trying to sabotage himself.
Thank you for taking time to respond to this issue RTalloni. I think there may be enough misunderstanding to go around. Even so, Carson has made a lot of strange statements that make people wonder where he's coming from.
His response to media was admirable, as are his responses to many other issues, but concern re him on the TPP (treaty) reflects an ignorance of what it actually is, the ruthless partners it will subject American workers to, and its entire substance.
Thank you for your thoughts Keith. I got a laugh. Carson does make some interesting statements that cause one to pause. I don't think once can take the man seriously as a presidential contender and think he should stick with what he knows.
The Pathetic Charade about President Obama's Citizenship was just that, a CHARADE ~ In the REAL World here on Planet EARTH, there was NEVER any question as to where he was born ~
Citizenship of all presidential candidates should be vetted in the same manner as the government vets to people that want top secret clearance. It is a valid question, and Obama was the one that prolonged it. But that is not the point of this ?
Obama's place of birth was only ever in question to racist lunatics who live in an alternate reality.
Cruz was actually born in Canada & McCain was born overseas too. Only nationalistic nativists see conspiracy in any one of these.
One more time, the citizenship of the presidential candidates is always valid, and I don't think the government vets out these candidates sufficiently. Period.
Appreciate your sharing your thoughts Alex. Mostly agree with you, except I think Trump's statements are attributed to the entire Republican Party regarding Hispanics and I will be surprised if any of them get that vote.
Paula, thank you for sharing your thoughts on this important issue. Dr. Carson was on TV defending himself las' night & of course his supporters were doing same. So many strange things coming out about this man that it's hard to know what to beli
I saw some of that. It's the closest to angry/hyper he's displayed ever. How can we possibly know who or what to believe? There are specific people who should remain within the realm of their forte. For Dr. Ben this would be the pediatric OR.
Paula, I agree. Carson should stick to what he knows. He doesn't seem to know beans about politics. I guess he didn't pay attention before to the way the media digs everything up on pres. candidates, cuz he's whining about it as if surprised.
LOL! I know, au fait. I saw his rant & whine. I used to laugh at my late husband for "talking" to the TV.....but there I was saying aloud, "SERIOUSLY Dude? Looks like U spent way too much time in the O.R.! U didn't KNOW this about our media?"..
Perhaps we are wise to watch. If the "tendencies" seem to continue to manifest, then there is a real disqualification.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts Alternative. I try to keep up with what's happening and I have noticed Carson makes some odd statements for sure.
Thank you for commenting on this issue Shyron. I think he wrote his book himself, but I didn't check. Carson does seem to be shooting himself in the foot on a regular basis.
