I believe taxes should be used in attempt to offer all free college.
America is supposed to be the place where dreams come true, instead, citizens are burdened down with student debt, they may or may not be able to pay of, depending on how fast they can find a job or if they find a job. Many who complete college are forced to work minimum wage jobs just so they can pay off student debt, leaving little time to search for a job they are actually qualified for. Not to mention the many fields that require experience before you can be hired and thus requiring you to work unpaid internships.
Many other countries have done this, and yes it does mean higher tax rates, but the citizens are happy to pay them, because their children get to go to college free.
When I think about my son (he is due on Feb 19) and how I desire for him to succeed in life, I would not mind paying higher taxes so that he can have free higher education.
