   Is the Trump Campaign not so much a political campaign, but more a therapy session for a narcissist?
   
   As more time goes by, and more people are questioning his success, is anyone else starting to wonder what is really driving Donald Trump and what he really hopes to get out of this?  Will he really enjoy the presidency as much when it's just him alone in that oval office without the cheering crowds?

   Uncomfortable as it might be, the Donald may win the seat.  Americans are desperately seeking something other than the status in quo.  I think Obama got elected for this same reason -- even if he turned out to be a disappointment for many.  Donald probably views sitting in the White House to be just another gig, another kind of "reality" type show.  Anyone seeking the office must possess a tremendous ego, and Donald puts everyone else to shame in this respect.  And today the presidency is not really much more than a kind of show.  Obama himself admitted that he was surprised about the limitations inherent with being president.  Is Trump just expanding his narcissistic journey -- probably yes.  Can the US survive a Trump presidency?  I expect so, although his reign of power would be a wild trip.  When you get an endorsement from Putin, it's rather clear that our polar opposition finds him to be the weakest of all candidates, but who knows?  Since the guy is already a billionaire, it's not like the special interest groups will be able to buy him off.  And to his credit, he just says whatever, regardless of whether it appears PC or not, so a Donald presidency could turn out to be very revealing in many different aspects.

      I think many elected officials at every level find, once in office, if solutions were as simple as they campaigned, someone would have already implemented them.

      Kathleen:  I agree; however, I suspect that most people who run for the office already know in advance that the seat really holds very finite powers, but they go for it anyway, promising the moon with no real expectation that it can be delivered.

   Anything is possible. I think it's possible that if he is seeking attention and if he becomes President and is alone in the office a year or two into it, it will not give him the satisfaction he may want. Hopefully, any candidate with that intent thinks about the full picture beforehand. It could be that his run in and of itself is a publicity stunt and he that plans to simply cry sour grapes if he doesn't get into office.
   I must say however, that I get a feeling that this attempt has the air of a popularity contest. Playing on and playing up people's fears and lying do not put him in the best light and are not helpful to the people of this country. He should stick to the issues, stop personal attacks, and he could most definitely win on those things. I don't like the way he's going about things and believe the way he's running is what is keeping a large number of people from supporting him.
