If Mr. Trump wins the Republican nomination, would he be wise to throw the convention open for VP?


Typically and traditionally the Republican presidential nominee is selected as a running mate by the nominee. Might there be actual wisdom in allowing the party faithful to choose the VP candidate a majority feel would best help their 2016 quest for the White House? (Remember that the last two VP running mates were Governor Palin and Representative Paul Ryan, and Senator McCain and Governor Romney were unsuccessful against B. H. Obama.
