   Why Do Parents Send Their Children To Christian Schools?
   
   I personally think that each person should have to choice to partake in any (or no) religion of their choosing. It is a very personally matter that should be made individually. So it really bugs me when evangelical parents send their kids to schools that indoctrinate impressionable children with religion. This brainwashing children, and this indoctrination takes away their right to choose their own beliefs.
   
   I can't see how any parent could condone this. Don't impress your beliefs on others, including your own children.

   There are sometimes the parents do this when the public schools are unsafe.  It might not be the school itself, but the location of the school-like in a bad part of town.  I thought about this with my older daughter because of guns and drugs at the public school plus a lot of teenage girls were getting pregnant at ages 13 and 14.  But things did get better from when she was a baby and the age she started school.  Metal detectors were placed in all the schools.  And she used common sense when it came to drugs and boys.

   More religious parents would send their children to private Christian school if they could afford to, but the price of 8K on the cheap end and 15K per year on the expensive end prices most out of that choice. And homeschooling requires giving up a parent's income and not all have the skills to do that.
   
   A separate matter is the discussion of religion in public schools altogether. All one hears today is a few sentences about Christianity, mostly negative, while there are whole chapters about how wonderful Islam is, down to memorizing the Shahada and Common Core lessons saying Muslims have stronger faith on average than Christians. Imagine the atheist reaction if told to memorize Psalm 23 and recite the Lord's Prayer or else get an F in class. When Islam is proselytized as part of the public school curriculum, you can't then say, "Oh, and Christians, shut up."

      ...what the hell kind of public schools do you go to where Islam is not only part of the curriculum but is taught to be wonderful?

      Enforcing the belief of ANY religion in a public school violates the First Amendment. Contrary to what you may think, the "Islamic illuminati" is not trying to brainwash your children in school.
      
      Private Christian schools on the other hand....

   It's not brainwashing children.  It's introducing them to a God who loves them, and they need to be saved!  The worst thing you can do is not tell your children about God.  The most loving thing you can do is teach them about Him.

      It's really a matter of perspective. You seem to really value your religion, and you seem quite dedicated to it. So, I do not think that you would react positively if your parents sent you to a school where, say, fundamentalist Islam was enforced.

   I imagine for some, if not most, it's because they not only believe in hell but also that everything good in America is due to Christian values. They can't view it as brainwashing if they are under the impression they are doing the right thing.

   i want to know this answer too. My parents sent me to catholic school when I was 5 years old. I grew up studying catholic school until I graduate.
   
   When i married my buddhist hubby, he insisted that all our kids attend a chinese medium school.
   
   He said that catholic school are good at language subjects only but poor in other category which I agreed.
   
   There is nothing wrong with catholic school because it teaches different religious class here

   My parents were Catholic and I went to a Catholic school. The education was good, and I had an extra subject. But like Santa Claus, I grew out of believing in stories, and intelligence prevailed as to what was real or not.
   
   Public schools and teachers seem to indoctrinate student to the political left, and that is no different than Christian schools with Christ.
   
   But, in general the student performance in private schools is higher than in public schools. So whether the parents believe in Christ or just want their children to have a better education is really the issue, no religion per se.

      It is true that private schools tend to enforce rules much better, but I still disagree with indoctrination. As for political "indoctrination", it would depend on your location really e.g. Are you in California or Texas?. It would make a difference.

   I don't agree that Christian schools are brainwashing or any faith based school. The issue is over shared beliefs of the family expressed socially and with their education. Parents don't need to send their children if they feel that strongly and have no faith.
