1) Callousness & Lack of Empathy; 2) Conning/Highly Manipulative; 3) Lack of Remorse or Guilt; 4) Grandiose Self-Worth; 5) Superficial Charm (Glib); 6) Shallow Affect: emotional poverty) ....or perhaps you can think of something worse than these 6 traits.

Elvisa, voting up on the statement you described is truly reprehensible. Like you, my mother suffered inside when she saw or heard of children suffering. I am thankful to her for her compassion. Thank you, dear lady.
Thank you! I hope that one day someone somewhere says something nice about me, as you do about your amazing mother.
Elvisa, for now, just know that many realize how important it is to have empathy, particularly for those who cannot yet defend themselves...our children. Thank you for caring. I know it isn't always easy, but empathy is a beautiful trait.
Good point, Paula. Enjoy your weekend too. I'm doing the dinner and movie thing tomorrow. My son is my date. He has a lot of compassion. Lol.
Agree with this. They all stem from a lack of empathy.
True. There is a lot of hurt "out there" and certainly within those who are the most empathetic. Let us not forget the meaning of "Empathy." (putting oneself in the other person's shoes.)
That would be a "new" category. Thank you for sharing, Tom.
Morning, Jodah. Unfortunately, you are right. Madoff was an example of that. The problem is that many people are too easily misled. Thanks for dropping by. Always a pleasure!
Absolutely, Tamara. A cursory look at the Q&A question section proves your point.
The question could be: "Is there a little bit (or a big bit) of each of those traits in Me?"
I have no control over them in others. I have control of them in Me. Here is the final responsibility.
As a Jesuit said, One must have knowledge of both the holy and the profane. Children "walk in light" but that doesn't keep them safe from predators. My goal is to bring awareness of the reality of good and dark. I recognize darkness when I see it.
Alan, self-deception is rampant. You've added two "new" categories and I thank you for the additions. Unfortunately (not you) many individuals who cry about self-deception are the worst offenders, ironically enough.
