NO matter what you think, statistical voting through poll taking makes your vote insignificant. The reason is that the majority of people take these poll results and vote based on them, as if they were their own. How else could the polls even be remotely close. Polls make humans into lab rats. Most people don't do independent thinking that would be a strain. Take for instance that in an elevator no one speaks, and yet there are no signs of silence to be found. When you were a student in a classroom, how many students raised their hands to answer the teachers ?

Why should he have won?
A proper reading of the polls would show that Obama was a clear winner. But the news media reported only the top level national numbers which showed a horse race. The GOP, using their assumptions about who would vote, Romney was going to win easily
Actually, Obama won because of the three western states being mostly democrats. Apparently that wasn't factored into the poll. I am talking about the election day poll. The popular vote wasn't a landslide by any means.
We don't know what the details were for the 1st 9 elections, but of the 47 remaining elections, 18 won with less than 50%, PBO wasn't one of them. 18/22 won with a higher % than PBO in 2008/2012. Of 24 modern elections PBO placed 7 and 8. Not 2 bad.
That doesn't sound like intelligent or independent voting, it sounds orchestrated by the polls themselves. People need to ? polls and not just accept their results. Sampling works for defect mgmt because it is a uniform process. People aren't.
Sorry Brad, it is you (and a few others) against the world full of mathematicians, statisticians, social scientists, political scientists, and on and on who say you are wrong.
I am not the one that is addicted to any party, nor am I the one that thinks that either party has any solutions, but creates the problems. The Catholic Church believed that the Sun revolves around the Earth, Copernicus showed them they were wrong.
I think that reply is a non sequitur
Or is it more like you don't have an answer. The dots are there just connect them.
