Who is your favorite US President to date and why?

Can include the 4 candidates in the 2016 election.

I have to pick two because they are tied.
    JFK and Ronald Reagan
Both of them took a bold step to protect the country and the people.
Cuba was defused from a possible nuclear war, and the Berlin Wall came down ending the cold war. Both of them took on Russia and won.

Thank you for your comment Brad (Nice name). I agree with the two choices and the reason behind it, one of my reasons for JFK was his emphasis on public service

Instead of the word "favorite," I would use "effective" instead:

Have to agree on Brad's first 2:
    1. JFK (see above)
    2. Reagan (see above ) & restored a certain spirit in the nation.
    3. Lincoln - Kept Union intact which helped end slavery. Unfortunately his full vision was not carried out after the war and that led to Jim Crow, etc.
    4. Teddy Roosevelt - Made America a world power in the wake of the Spanish American War, and trust buster.  Let emotions get the best of him sometimes, but effective.
    5.  James Monroe - Stabilizing force diplomatically and domestically.  U.S. standing was raised further.

I agree also with 3&4. but I would say that without George Washington there would not have been a United States.

Reagan by far is the clear choice. I wrote a whole hub on his accomplishments. As far as I know, Reagan was the only President that won 49 out of 50 States in his second term in 1984. What other presidents have united us before or since?
