   Will the cold blood murder of black men by the police ever end?
   
   I know it goes way back more than that ,but since the police in New York shot Amadou Diallo and got away home free,it seems the bad apples in the different police departments feel it's open hunting season on black men.

   What is interesting about the latest streak of police shootings, is that they seem to be occurring in midsize cities/forces and even unincorporated areas:  Baton Rouge and Baltimore along with places like Ferguson.  I remember growing up in NYC, and police shootings as well as police getting killed, was a regular occurrence.  Brutality was also a big factor.  However, changes in training over the past 20 years, along with a change in hiring/screening have helped. 
   
   Smaller departments need that as well. Taking the fear our of policing.  Federal government is starting to take the lead on that.  We have gotten away from the community policing trend that started in the early 90s.   Officers can just drive through a neighborhood, no matter how dangerous.  They need to shake hands,  just like an elected official.  It might save their lives someday too.

      Thank you for your input.I  don't know the answer but  it is not civilized to live in a society where a man can be shot dead if he happens to be on the street walking while black.If local authorities remain MIA the federal government should act.

   When all people in American society feel that a black life is as precious and valuable as a dog or cat life, any animal life, maybe it will stop. The SPCA is known as a humanitarian organization nationwide that would be outraged if a policeman or policewomen shot a mad dog over 15 or more times while it lay on the ground. In such an Officer involved shooting the officers would likely be charged with excessive use of force and fired, not so with black lives. I remember a few years ago a police sniper shot a pistol out of the hand of a white man threatening the officers and himself. It seems deadly force is too often used when black live or involved. People who are definitely afraid of black people especially black men should be weeded out and not hired to police black communities.

   Far more blacks are killed by other blacks than are killed by police. Several hundred blacks have been killed in Chicago alone thus far in 2016, more than the number killed by cops in all of 2015.
   Why don't black lives matter when taken by other blacks?

      seriously? does that make it OK  for police officers to shoot human beings like if they were rabid dogs and not human?
