What is your opinion of the Black Lives Matter movement?

We all believe that law enforcement officers need to be held accountable and unjustified killings by police can not be tolerated.  However, if the organization truely holds protecting the lives of blacks as its mission, wouldn't it make sense to recognize all the black lives lost at the hands of other blacks? I don't ask this to start an argument, instead I hope to have some intelligent conversation on this subject. So, with that in mind, what are your thoughts on this?

          Interesting video.
US having many black fatherless parents, would create a great number of problems. Even though my parents were divorced. I made sure I stayed close to both of them.

Women and blacks do have to pull a tighter rope in life than whites males.  Yet, most of the faults and excuses in life fall mainly on the dividuals destiny.

I can agree with many of the facts, yet my feeling, it's too oneside conservative nationalistic propaganda too..

Nationism is most dangerous. Why is an average american white family income, almost 10 times greater than a black families income?

I think the movement is great because black people have mistreated for so many years and its about time to put a stop to it. Black lives should matter just the way white peoples lives matter. we are all human and no race should be mistreated just because of the colour of ones skin. it doesn't make any sense. As for black people killing black people that also has to stop and I pray it does. we are all humans and racism has to stop.

I think it is an offshoot of the lgbt success of using militant and political power to mandate that the majority conforms to the whims of the minority.
They saw how successful was the lgbt in claiming equality, and how weak was the constitution.
Now, the blacks that have made zero progress on their own, want to once again blame the whites, and the majority for their inability to to what other late comer immigrants have done.
Asians coming into this country even starting back at the Vietnam War when the US took hundreds of thousands of them into the country, have assimilated very well and quietly into American. Like the rest of the Asians they embrace education and technology and found their place in the American workplace.
They don't populate the welfare rolls that Blacks have been on for decades.
They also don't populate the jails and prisons that are populated by the blacks. There are two million people in the US jails and prisons. And a large number of them are black.

With a two term black president, and two black US AG, you would think that would inspire the black community. In Los Angeles more blacks are in gangs than college.

Blacks excel in sports and music, but those that aren't in those field don't excel at anything productive. They do well as criminals but not as productive citizens.

The Chinese were forced into indentured servitude in the 1800s to work on the railroads. The Japanese Americans were interred during WWII, and the European immigrants in the early 1900s were given nothing but entry into the country. Yet, all of these people did well, while Blacks haven't done well. And today, it seems like they shot backwards 50 years.

Killing cops should be deemed acts of terrorism!
The good black people need to lead the bad black people back into America. President Obama has an opportunity to lead them also, but he has failed to even try to date.

Blacks HAVE made progress - to the White House, record number of black millionaires, Supreme Court, AG, expanded presence in the middle class. The law actually biases toward them in federal hiring, school admissions.

Black Lives Matter doesn't care about black lives, only power over law enforcement and governments. Otherwise, they'd care about the hundred fold more blacks killed by other blacks than the relatively few killed by police. More blacks are killed in just Chicago per year than by police across the nation - and that's only one city. Nor do they care about the higher murder rate which disproportionately kills blacks when their solution of "police pull back" results in more crime.
Black Lives Matter isn't about police brutality. Otherwise they'd care about whites and Hispanics killed by police, too. But no, the only  lives matter to BLM are the blacks killed by police.
They are also a racist movement, as seen by their demands to have only black police in their neighborhoods, only black teachers in school, segregation of blacks in colleges and public events. They don't want equality but superiority as demonstrated by telling whites to outright defer to their superiors of color, while shaming them for merely existing. When a racial group can demand segregation for the comfort of said group, it is fascism in the name of feelings.
Then there is the evil calls by BLM leaders to kill cops and whites. They have been calling for the death of cops for years, as well as the mass murder of whites.

    Just a few references:

Black Activists Call for Lynching and Hanging of White People, Cops
    http://www.breitbart.com/texas/2015/08/ … -and-cops/

Twitter Users Celebrate Police Deaths and Call For More Violence
    http://www.breitbart.com/tech/2016/07/0 … s-twitter/

Couple calls for the murder of whites with them dehumanizing whites - when kill all white men and white girl tears are socially acceptable hashtags but disagreeing with a PoC is akin to a sin - you have a group that doesn't want equality.
Instead, their definition of fairness is to invert the social pyramid of the 1950s, segregating and humiliating the grand children and great grandchildren of the people that might or might not have harmed their ancestors.
But liberals have been systematically de-legitimizing, guilt-tripping and humiliating whites for years, which is the ONLY reason why Black Lives Matter can see their goals as possible.

Are you suggesting that unwarranted police killings of black people should not be addressed until there are no blacks killing other blacks? Let's put the question in a different context and see if it makes sense.

In 2015, 38,300 people were killed and 4.4 million injured in traffic incidents on U. S. roadways. A total of 19 in the U. S. died at the hands of terrorists that year.

So, wouldn't it make sense to recognize all the American lives lost at the hands of other Americans on our highways? Shouldn't the FBI suspend its efforts against terrorism in the U. S. and focus on the much more deadly problem of traffic fatalities?

Or, just maybe, it's possible to fight terrorism on the one hand, and simultaneously do all we can to prevent carnage on our highways. And perhaps it's possible to address unwarranted police killings and at the same time do all we can to stop the killing going on in our inner cities.

But, you say, reducing road fatalities is certainly important, but that's not the FBI's mission. In the same way, BLM's mission is to address the pressing issue of brutality against blacks carried out by the police authorities that are supposed to protect them. That doesn't mean other issues are not important. But should BLM be required to fix those other issues before it is allowed to address the issue that is its main focus? Do we really want to see FBI agents manning radar guns on the highway before they are allowed to address the issue of terrorism?

Riot in Hyde Park, police stabbed, "black lives matter" chants, machete attacks - this isn't a peaceful group

You have to have the capacity for intelligent conversation in order to have one. The fact that you say 'unjustified' killings, would denote that you believe some killing of human beings by police is somehow justifiable. This would disqualify you from being able to have an intelligent conversation about the subject of murder by police, which is what the Black Lives Matter movement is really about.

Personally, I'm colored blind from traveling over a 100 countries. Never did like labels of any sort sticking on me.

I can only imagine if I were born as an American black. The greatest source of problems I would recognize would be economic Racial inequality or systematic racism. Refers to social advantages and disparities that affect different races within the US. These inequities distribution of wealth, power, and life opportunities afforded to people based on their race or ethnicity, both historic and modern.  I would start to change within myself as a strong individual and be an example to other blacks. I say F__k nationism, it's more harmful than religion anyways.
