The election in the US is extremely important as the US has a major effect on world security and economies. Israel depends on the US for aid to defend itself. Many Asian countries rely on the US via its presence of military hardware and soldiers and monetary aid. Many African countries rely on humanitarian aid and money. Many European countries rely on its NATO ally to act as a deterrent to possible aggression from outsiders. Economically, the U.S. does not impose as many tariffs as its European counterparts and has many economic laws which are Euro friendly that it does not give to other nations anywhere in the world. If the U.S. were to go tit for tat on tariffs to Europe many European economic issues would unfold. Also, depending on where our energy policies are directed this could affect other countries. Right now 33% of our energy is generated by coal; 33% natural gas; 20% nuclear; 6% hydroelectric; 8% Other. If we start moving more to Solar, wind, and other renewable (which need to become more efficient) this could further. Now the U.S produces about 90-91% of its energy, but the remaining 9-10% is a huge boon for other countries. The less outside energy we need the less other countries will make. So on an economic and sociopolitical stand point the US is extremely important to other countries. Then when you look at immigration policies; they US sets limits on temporary Visas to a lot of poor countries for the use of seasonal help (although they give a bit to Ireland as well). However, permanent visa or paths to permanent status is very much skewed toward certain countries. Many countries around the world want a more equalized system for Visas, so the people around the world want to see where the President stands on immigration policies. So this election and every other US election is very important to people around the world.
