Insanity is a state of mind that prevents normal perception, behavior, or social interaction; seriously mentally ill. With that being said, I believe that our society has reached a high level of immorality and insanity. As a republic we have elected a person that is known for his immorality as the Commander in Chief. On the local level local government, the preference is no longer about protecting and serving the people that cannot protect themselves. The mindset that is most prevalent in our society is that "the harm is not affecting me personally so I choose not to care." In this season, I'm convinced that we are showing how in-humane we are as a society. Immorality and hypocrisy is at an all time high. Fighting mass incarceration is awesome for political campaigns, but ulimately we don't care because the U.S has the highest incarceration rate in the world. Might I add that more than 80% of the federal prison population are black men, and this is highly immoral in that black people are only 27% of the U.S population. Also, black people are lynched in the street in the streets like dogs, and the police are the ones doing it. Ironically, the majority of this "great" nation love this because Trump won the presidential election on the premise of "Making America Great Again." Does he mean to return to the 40's, 50's, or 60's when blacks hung in trees? Does he mean back when blacks were burned alive, and white people are smiling and posing while they stand beside the burned hanging black bodies This is highly immoral, and today the police are doing the same thing legally with the gun, and there is hardly any accountability. Our society is willing to deny state funds for education, but at the same time accept state funds for prisons and juvenile detention centers. With that being said, our society is insane just as it was back then. The insanity and immorality has always been here, and it never left. It only evolved, and it is concealed by uniforms and titles. The inhumanity and insanity was only made legal. All Trump did was uncover what was there all along.
