Can Xenophobia really make America great again ??
Yet another another hate crime. An American navy veteran shot dead an Indian engineer in a Kansas bar and injured another while shouting
"Get out of my country"!!
There are over 340 million people in this country. What is your point.
And why does some one from India tell America what they should do?
India still has the caste system. Incredible wealth for a few and pathetically poor mass.
Darn this got selected as Best Answer, can't undo either. Pretty obvious I asked a question expecting condescending rebuttals. Despite a herculean task we still dealt with the grave problem of 'Caste System' way better than 'Racial Segregation'!!
India has issues with illegal immigration from Bangladesh. They try to cut down on that too. Are they xenophobes for that?
Travis, yes we indeed are xenophobic to people who pour in illegally frm neighbouring states and there r currently millions of them bt we don't go out and kill them like they were animals. If govt. decides to bar or deport them that's not xenophobia.
We don't go out and kill them either. What happened was an isolated incident.
15% of the adult men in the US are unemployed and not counted as such due to deliberate manipulation of employment statistics by the Obama Administration. Workforce participation for the native born is at a level not seen for 40 years, when many women were still outside the workforce.
Immigration has kept wages stagnant and caused them to decline after inflation for the bottom third of the population.
Welfare reliance, poverty and the demand for charity are all high, because mostly unskilled and many illegal immigrants and their children work for less and depress wages for native born .... and then rely on state programs for medical care and drive up education costs while using local charity along with those whose jobs they took.
In this regard, immigrants are displacing native born in the workforce and causing their incomes to decline - and that is why we want to shut the border and end immigration until the economy actually needs more people.
When newcomers cause your community to become poorer through job losses and suffer worse through higher taxes and competition for welfare, the resentment is reasonable.
And it is the fault of Democrats who didn't care about the suffering they caused because they assumed the poor would continue to vote Democrat.
Your argument is more rational rather than being phoney or prejudiced and I second that, but is such resentment acceptable?
Isn't it better to ask for stringent immigration laws, as are supposedly being discused and tabled now?

President elect Donald Trump propose to make America great again. One way, he can accomplish this is boosting major league soccer. My proposal is to have "designed plays" to score goals, and to have the final teams announce the starting line-ups for all three games before starting the...

What happens when 8 years of "fundamentally transforming the United States of America" is followed up by 3 1/2 years of "let's make America great again"?

Let's Make America Great Again – But How?Given an opportunity to choose one area to improve and power to change one thing, what would you choose?I believe with a clear idea of “tangible” progress, we would be less susceptible to catchy phrases and more focused on results.I would like to see America...
