Is any elder person in your town forced to pay for Meals on Wheels? A senior lady in mine was told

payment was mandatory and the volunteer delivery person kept the money. Unfortunately, both the elderly woman and volunteer are recently deceased. Should a national investigation occur? In addition, the meals shown on TV from our local MOW recently look very bad - all gray food. Are the budget cuts pending for Meals on Wheels a good or bad idea?

Thanks for this info! I found out today that MOW in my city regularly asks for $7.00/meal donation, but does not pressure the recipient. The food is overcooked and bad looking.

How can trump cut something that is funded by donations as MOW is. Believe me I know.

trump want to cut Social Security that would have more people needing MOW just to have a bite to eat.

Right: Greed should not be excused.

Also, financially it's less expensive to feed the elderly than to pay for rehabilitation when they go without eating.

Seeing that children have food is a national obligation.

I think I agree. My church has two food pantries in the county and an emergency food program, along with a community center to help with healthcare and other support services. Documentation of qualification for programs is strict, though.

Sound like no one is supposed to pay, but a donation is accepted in most states.

Thanks for your answer. I think my elder acquaintance was scammed.
