I see no evidence of oppression of blacks.

Well of course you don't - because Lolly just used that word to provoke a more heated debate, as she admitted to doing, below. She has apparently heard someone else use it with regards to blacks & racism over & over again to become a mantra.

No. Nobody is oppressed in America today. Nobody in America under 30 has any idea what oppression feels or looks like as far as ethnic groups and racism are concerned. There will always be intolerant individuals and sometimes they will gang up and try to oppress someone but it is really impossible in this country because of laws and society in general. We're very diverse and open minded as well as just used to seeing multiracial families and  groups of people. If your workplace is not a place that is particularly accepting of your ethnic background there are many places you can find employment which will hire you. Grants and free education for nearly anyone make it impossible for anyone to really say they are oppressed. Few people who are here illegally could even accurately state that they are oppressed as there is more opportunity here than where they originally came from, obviously, or they wouldn't be here. And with most blacks here in America being American, oppression of African American people in America simply does not exist. They are free to work, drink from any fountain, vote, all laws apply to them and protect them just like anyone else. I tried to use facts rather than opinion to provide an accurate answer i do hope it was what you were looking for .
I also kept in mind that oppression is not peoples hatred or beliefs or the likelyhood of people accepting or liking you or what police are likely to prefer to do when they see you those things all vary from one circumstance to another, yes  people do treat african americans bad and those people usually pay for it it a fuss is made over it but look at O.J. Simpson and his lawyer who obviously had just as much or more juice than any of his white peers. And i hate to sound errr duh but did we not just have a semi black president for two terms? Oppression is the lack of opportunuty to pursue life, liberty and happiness in America. America means if one place is riddled with hate you are free to find somewhere that suits you and lets you thrive.

You appear to be suffering from an acute case of Stockholm Syndrome. A dog who gets to run loose in the backyard is relatively free compared to the one always chained. But we can hardly say the former is free. Unless U a very rich, U are oppressed.

By that standard, Wrench, every American is oppressed by a government that's beyond control.  Who can say that they're truly, wholly "free" in America?  Perhaps the very wealthy, as they have, at the least, influence on the levers of power.

There are 3 degrees of oppression, or 3 perpetual wars simultaneous : class war,  race war, and a war on women. Sexism and racism must be defeated before the proletariat can overcome  the oppressive ruling class.

That, IMO, is simply human conflict being reflected in at least 3 ways.  We've always had it, nothing new. It will remain until Christ returns.

If people of color had taken the second coming as seriously as you seem to then they would still be riding in the back of the bus waiting for Jesus. We continue to have this conflict because of sheeple who are too cowardly to stand against evil.

We continue to have this conflict because evil IS and will be until the return of Christ.  The fight against evil is in the lives of each person, you and me.  It's a fight that Christ assists us with if we mean business with him.

Blacks garnered support from the left in the political realm because conservatives dropped the handling of segregation in schools. With this the radicals in this group have learned that in meta modern society we should call on a figment called the bourgeoisie to pander to our first world troubles.

So in essence, the Bernie babies would like you to have a bigoted view of how different ethnic groups are treated, and would never come out for a middle of the road discussion. Per speculation, these liberals piggybacked on blacks for numerous rights and legal action against the system that deems handouts worthy for its citizens. First in this case is the black man who sued Fox for never handing him a promotion.

I'm not wearing the rose colored glasses that make our cities look good when they're not, but the facts of wage gaps are still false and any proportion of hard work could still earn you wealth, albeit it's gotten a lot harder for EVERYBODY. When the left calls for reparations for or against a class in actionable pursuit, they are really panhandling at the tit of Uncle Sam.

Oppressed, no. Some racism and prejudice still exists, but not to the point that "oppression" would be an appropriate word. Unemployment rates for black Americans hit a seventeen year low in June, incarceration rates have been declining, criminal justice reform has been getting more attention (and bipartisan support) and we had a black President for eight years. I think everyone would agree that things have bee improving and that this trend will likely continue.

Not at all, they have little aggressive nature, if we compare it with Africa they have more opportunities in America

You don't understand the process.  First I steal everything from you, and enslave you. Once U have made me rich I "set you free" and allow you limited participation in the empire I built upon you back. U glorify evil because U love  materialism.

I think America is a free state and  oppression should not be there for any race

No they're not oppressed. There are government policies that have done great damage to the black family and community. Since the inception of LBJ's great society welfare state, the black family has been devastated and has given rise to a cycle of dependency, resentment, crime, poverty and violence.

There are also political and community leaders that have made there living by stoking the fires of racial resentment thereby causing more isolation and anger. But more importantly the focus on white racism prevents many from taking responsibility for their own problems.

I believe America's Mainstream Media (MSM) works hard to foster racism in our nation, it is forefront in our movies, in our news, and definitely in our politics.

Take a moment to ask, why is that?

Isn't today's supposed racism targeted at latino immigrants?

So why is Hollywood churning out movies like 'Detroit'?

Why are politicians like Maxine Waters out there making extreme statements day after day about the President being a racist, needing to be impeached, etc.?

Why does one political Party seem to work unendingly to make Americans aware of racism in all forms, in all people, in every speech, in every political campaign?

The answer is yes, black people are extremely oppressed in our system.

The politicians on the left do everything they can to maintain the status quo, to continue to divide the nation in an 'us vs. them mentality'.

Do you think the 'open-border' policies pursued by the Obama Administration helped or hurt the availability of jobs for the lower class?

Do you think the 'open-border' policies helped or hurt social supports, education opportunities, job opportunities for lower income (black) Americans?

When you have limited resources, is it better to have only 10 people competing for them, or 100?

Who benefits from this?  The people? The corporations? A political party?

Instead of listening to the rhetoric, the lies, spewed by politicians and talking heads in the media, people should do just a little bit of research into what the policies and laws the politicians pass and pursue REALLY do.

The country is divided because those in control of the country WANT us divided.  (Those same people WANT you to hate Trump, and for that reason alone, you should question WHY).

Blacks BELIEVE themselves to be oppressed, because most of the people running this country, and the media, WANT them to believe that.  And believing goes a long way being/becoming reality.
