If it's true that some news are false, who gets to decide which ones are false and which are true?

Since fortune-tellers and psychics are not considered a reliable source of information---the ONLY source of what the public may ever know about domestic and global events are the media. So, what do we really "know", and what we only "think" we know, if some of their news are false? Aren't we cherry picking all the time according to our political favoritisms?

Val, Austinstar seems qualified to me. I have two degrees in journalism, a BA and an MA that qualify me to speak as a judge of media. Your skepticism is extreme. Remember the story about the woman in the flood whom God sent the boat to rescue?

Well, Michael, have you ever heard of conspiracies? When various news outlets report news with the exact details, it could indicate that they have been fed the report. I like to note the slightly different details in coverage from various sources.
