Affirmitive action is reverse discrimination due to the fact it does not base being hired upon who is best for the job but by what sex or race you are. If a company does not have X number of women or X race they can not hire a cuacuasion male no matter if they are the best for the job or not, they have to hire a minority.
Part of why some companies do not have the best working for them.
For instance, firefighters, would be required to hire a female, even if she is not the best qualified for the position, mentally or physcially... who do you want to carry your child down a ladder, the lady who barely was able to lift the minimium or the guy they didnt hire who could lift 2 times as much as she could..
now of course if the lady was best qualified, sure hire her..
there were already discrimination laws before affirmative action.. affirmative action was just like many dumb laws, it is like the hate crime laws, hate is not a crime, when you take action and harm someone.. that is crime and is punishable.
