Those who want mega cities, with which to put large numbers of people into small land areas away from farm land and parks is to make the masses dependent on the system on which they depend .It's the same with the mass production of the food.By putting large numbers of animals that are used as a food source into small spaces devoid of fresh air and water and producing as much food as possible without reguard for the health sustaining quality of that food and at the same time producing food as cheaply as possible. I can understand producing food as cheaply as possible ,but we can and should also produce the highest quality food at the lowest possible cost.Too many food products are produced without reguard to the health sustaining quality of that food.Money seems to be the deciding factor. But,how many of these food producers ask the consumer if they are willing to pay more in order to get the best quality food? How many city planners ask the people if they want to live in high rise buildings? How many manufacturers ask the consumer what they want in a product rather than just asking what they think of a particular product that they are planning to make?. Today there are too many manufactured items that are made to fit a particular price ,rather than to produce the best quality product at the lowest possible price. If,the purpose is sustainability then maybe the people should have more say in how they and what they want rather than letting a few private individuals or corporate types decide for the masses.I say let the private corporations build or produce what the people want at a reasonable cost to both producer and consumer ,not just the producer. Why should the producer and the consumer be at opposite sides of the economic spectrum? How can the economy be sustainable if the consumers cannot afford what the producers are trying to sell them without comprimising the quality and sustainablity of their life or health?
